Tuesday's in the Park
The Gladwin Council of Arts features their TUESDAYS IN THE PARK summer series beginning on July 15th, with THE GREAT LAKES CHAMBER PLAYERS, a statewide group of Michigan’s finest musicians performing in a string quartet playing classical tunes and popular tunes arranged for classical instruments.
July 22nd–TIM ROWLEY & THE TEN MILE CIRCLE, played to a packed amphitheater in 2006 and 2007 and will be back again this year playing a variety of music. These local musicians, Tim Rowley, Dan Rowley, Jim Forgie, Kip Fritcher and Jim Gower all lived within a “Ten Mile Circle” and have enjoyed playing music for many years. Prepare yourselves for another evening of wonderful entertainment.
July 29th – DON LOOMIS/BLUEGRASS REVIVAL, a bluegrass gospel group that has performed for several years in the Mid-Michigan area. Come enjoy this band singing gospel songs and playing a variety of instruments including bass, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, fiddle and banjo.
August 5th-No performance due to the election.
August 12th –THE THREE PENNY REVUE, a six-piece group playing Swing, Blues, Motown, R&B, Rockabilly & Latin. They have performed at several venues throughout Michigan and out of state. Enjoy this musically diverse group.
August 19th –THE PUB RUNNERS, a very popular group to Tuesdays in the Park attendees performing Irish Humor, Jokes and Folk Songs. Come to the amphitheater and sing a long with this entertaining group.
Bring your family and friends to TUESDAYS IN THE PARK to listen to wonderful music, having fun at a beautiful location along the Cedar River and it is close to home. Tickets are $5 per person per event and may be purchased at Gladwin City Hall, Glen’s Market in Gladwin or on the evening of the event at the Amphitheatre entrance. Many performers will have CDs to purchase.
All performances begin at 7 p.m. at the Gladwin City Park Amphitheatre, 240 City Park Street. The rain location will be determined at a later date. For additional information, please call (989) 426-5887.
Gladwin Arts and Crafts Festival
The Gladwin Council of Arts invites you to attend the Thirtieth Annual Arts & Crafts Festival held in the Gladwin City Park, 240 City Park Street, off Cedar Avenue between the Sheriff’s Department and the Gladwin County Courthouse on July 12th from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day in the Park Pavilion. Come check out the Arts & Crafts booths and enjoy the entertainment at the same time. Exhibitor space is still available. Pumpkin Painting
The Gladwin Arts Council will be sponsoring the 2008 pumpkin painting that will take place on Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Gladwin City Park Pavilion in the City Park behind the Sheriff’s Department. This activity is for children ages 10 and under. Parents are welcome to assist small children and pumpkins and paints will be supplied. Cider and doughnuts will also be served!
Gladwin County Festival of Lights Christmas Parade
The 2008 Gladwin County Festival of Lights Christmas Parade Committee is looking forward to a spectacular event this year for Gladwin County.
